Report – Cressy Qualifier

The Cressy District qualifier was held at Wyzata Sailing in Minnesota this past weekend. Four sailors competed  in the Ilca 6 boys; Jack Armstrong and Liam Gilin competed for West Bloomfield High School. Ryan and Sean Ellison competed for Seaholm. In the Laser Full ilca 7 Andrew Wiand competed for Detroit Country Day.

Conditions

for Saturday 14th: the wind was 5 knots gusting to 10 and with the upwind mark pointed into the bay the course was quite shifty. 

And for Sunday 15th: The wind in the morning was the same as the day prior but towards the afternoon its started to pick up reaching a peak of 16 knots the course had a large left shift at the top of the course. 

Final standings

Jack : Tied for 6th

Liam: 15th

Sean: 18th

Ryan: 20th

Andrew:7th

The sailors would like to thank Community Sailing School, Dr. Frikker and Coach Eric for making this travel regatta happen for them. We appreciate Coach Eric’s dedication to ensuring all sailors who want to, are able to participate despite the cost and obstacles that it presented.
