MUDJ Sailing continued their success from the fall season with two excellent finishes this past weekend in the Baker and Mallory Pre-Qualifiers at Community Sailing School on Friday, April 11-13. MUDJ finished second in the Baker Team Race on Friday, with a record of 10-2, in a hotly contested competition with Grosse Pointe South that came down to the final race of the day.
Five U of D Sailors and one Mercy sailor competed.
Sailors- Corrina Rebain, Mercy ’28, Graham Rebain, U of D ’25, Maverick Killips, U of D’ 25, Quinn Elliot U of D ’26, Charlie Walton U of D ’25, Charlie Weikel U of D ’26, comprise the team of coed sailors competing together.

On Saturday and Sunday, MUDJ continued racing in the Mallory Fleet Racing competition, where the A division of Graham Rebain and Maverick Killips finished with a perfect score, finishing 1st in all 6 races. The B division of Charlie Walton, Charlie Weikel and Quinn Elliot placed 2nd in the fleet, enduring a breakdown in the middle of races, but recovered well to finish racing for the day with a win. The MUDJ team won the regatta comfortably and now go on to compete in Chicago at Columbia Yacht Club on May 3-4 as part of the National Mallory qualifier series.
