Community Sailing School Wins Third Consecutive Sears Cup Championship

Community Sailing School is proud to announce its third consecutive Sears Cup Championship. One of the longest running traditions in Detroit junior sailing, the Sears Cup has showcased the region’s top young sailors for more than 100 years. Winning this historic championship three years in a row is an extraordinary accomplishment and a testament to the dedication, talent, and teamwork of our sailors.

This year’s championship was won by the CSS team of Ryan Ellison, Sean Ellison, and Ryan Chequer. Also competing in the event was the CSS team of Nikaash Nandakumar, Michael Safir, and Randy Lee.

The Sears Cup is one of the most prestigious trophies in Detroit junior sailing, and capturing it for a third straight year reflects the continued strength of the CSS racing program. Success at this level is built through countless hours of practice, commitment from our sailors and families, and the dedication of our coaching staff and volunteers.
