Heads up on some spectator info for the Mallory Qualifier this weekend. Be sure to review the last page of the NOR which gives instructions for spectators at CYC and parking, and includes the following highlights:<div>
- Saturday is the Kentucky Derby, so they are recommending “Derby Attire” if you are “sitting for a meal” in the restaurants that day. Sounds like eating food from the club to-go on the third floor deck doesn’t require the dress code.
- No outside food is allowed for spectators.
- Unless you are eating, do not take a seat on the second floor deck.
- Parking for visitors is across the street in the DuSable Harbor parking lot. For those who attended in the Fall, there is no parking allowed in the CYC lot this time. The Harbor lot is further down from the CYC lot, under the overpass. It is paid parking.
- It’s gonna be chilly and windy, so bring warm clothing. (not really “Derby Attire”…)
- Eric mentioned last night after practice that racing could be at the south end of Monroe Harbor as opposed to being through the mooring balls or out in the larger harbor area closer to the lake like last time. Our family is going to bring lawn chairs in case there is better spectating along the seawall at that end of Monroe Harbor.
